A tech leader with nearly 20 years of experience, Anu has led teams and initiatives across Microsoft and Atlassian.
With a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from RV College Of Engineering, Anu Bharadwaj began her career at Microsoft in 2003 as a Software Design Engineer. In her 10-year tenure there, she led the team in charge of enhancing Microsoft's Visual Studio.
In 2014, she joined Atlassian as the Head of Product for Jira, the company’s issue and project tracking software. Under her leadership, Jira transformed from a single application to a family of products, and Atlassian went public with a market cap of $4.37 billion.
In her 10 years at Atlassian, Ana Bharadwaj served as Head of Product for Atlassian Cloud, Chief Operating Officer, and now President, introducing several services such as Atlassian Home and People Directory along the way. Under her Presidentship, the company has added more than $4 billion to its market cap.
She is also a board member of OutSystems and Chairperson of Atlassian Foundation, which focuses on providing education to underprivileged people around the world and has donated more than $54 million towards the cause.
Anu Bharadwaj’s work has led her to be featured as one of Women in Tech’s Top 100 Executive Women in Tech to Watch in 2024.
Fun Fact: Anu Bharadwaj decided to take a sabbatical in 2016 to do fieldwork on wildlife conservation projects. Her work ranged from monitoring penguin rookeries in Antarctica to putting GPS collars on cheetahs in Namibia, which she shared helped her become a better leader.
